Baldness is a condition that brings out the inferiority complex in so many people. Some have gone to drastic measures just to conceal the problem without much luck. Some have resorted to even wearing of artificial hair, like the use of the wigs which does not fully solve the problem.

This is a hair care system that has been designed and believed to stop hair loss. It comprises of the cleansers, conditioners and the leave – in treatments. However this product has never been approved by the FDA, and even its manufacturer states that this product is not a hair loss product, what it was manufactured to do is to get rid of the excess sebum in the scalp and to also get rid of the residues that can damage the follicles that may lead to the thinning of the hair. It is believed or so proven that the excess sebum on the scalp always contains the DHT which is a by product of the testosterone. This byproduct has also been proven to have a negative effect on the hair follicle and its growth. It’s believed that it’s the DHT that leads to the thinning of the hair. The Nioxin product was therefore designed to wash away the DHT along with the other environmental residues and the product buildups in the head.
This has lead many to believe that Nioxin was actually made to prevent the thinning of the hair, but neither is there scientific proof nor are the manufacturers trying and harder to make this point clear and attest to it. It is then assumed that the product does not remove the DHT more that any other shampoo. There are more that eight different types of the Nioxin product, with each one of them manufactured for different kinds of hair. They also come with shampoo, conditioner and the leave – in treatment. The procedure of hair loss treatment is very simple. There are only three steps. The first one is the use of the shampoo to remove the DHT from the scalp. Step two is the use of the conditioner or sometimes referred to as the scalp theory.
This has a combination of antioxidants, the essential oils and the enzymatic complexes which are used to moisturize and refresh the skin and the hair. Then there is step three which is referred to as the scalp treatment. This is where the leave – in product is put to use. This virtually protects the scalp from further buildups. The product has reported some side effects on some users. There are instances where there have been reported cases where there is increase of hair loss after they have begun the use of the product. This product can however be used continually even by the pregnant women and those who are breastfeeding.
